A Brief History of Valley Forge Casino Resort

Valley Forge Casino PA opened for business on March 31, 2012, becoming the 11th casino in the state. It sits on a site that was formerly occupied by the Valley Forge Convention Center which was built in 1985. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board issued the casino a Class 3 license. This type of license puts a cap on the number of slots and table games allowed. There are currently 850 slot machines and about 50 gaming tables. While Valley Forge Casino PA doesn’t have a poker room, it is permitted to set up 15 poker tables on the casino floor for poker tournaments.

In 2018, casino giant Boyd Gaming bought Valley Forge Casino for $281 million. Boyd Gaming also owns several other casinos throughout the United States. Gold Coast, Eldorado Casino, and the Freemont Hotel and Casino are among the one dozen properties the company owns in Nevada alone.

Valley Forge Casino Resort teamed up with FanDuel and opened its sportsbook in March 2019. The state-of–the-art FanDuel Sportsbook is an 1,800 square-foot slice of sports betting heaven.
